The coalition forces that killed the third term project are at work, to decide the 2007 general elections
The political big-wigs that brought the third term agenda to
rest are at work shaping and reshaping the political situation
of 2007 general elections. Those political juggernauts are fully
aware that the forces arrayed against them are coming from Aso
Rock power house due to the part they played during the campaign
to elongate the tenure of Mr. President, Obasanjo. The former
military president, IBB, the incumbent vice president, Atiku
Abubakar, and the former military leader, Muhamandu Buhari are
believed to be the three strongest political colossuses that
killed the botched third term agenda. The three political front
runners of the 2007 presidential election are as follows: the
toothy Five Star General, IBB, the Kano born Five Star General,
Muhammadu Buhari, and the Adamawa born political war horse are
coming together, forming political coalition against any
imposition of any candidate on Nigeria.
Can Obasanjo and PDP withstand the political tidal wave of IBB,
Buhari, and Atiku? The Minna born politician, IBB, is believed
to have used his power across the nation to bring Obasanjo to
power in 1999, after many years of Obasanjo’s incarceration. The
political loyalists of IBB, both in the military and in the
civilian world are committed to making sure that IBB’s
succession after Obasanjo is surefooted come 2007. Some believe
that IBB is the communication gap between the civilian and the
military, because he was a military man, and now he is a
civilian in nature. IBB is one the persons believed to have used political weight to kill the evil sit-tight
agenda, to extend the tenure of Obasanjo.
Buhari, another Five Star General, is interested in succeeding Obasanjo in 2007 presidential election. Before now, Buhari and
IBB’s relationship was nothing to write home about. These
political heavy weights had been celebrated foes, since 1985.
Both men worked together to silent the selfish third term
project. Buhari is believed to enjoy the northern votes, and he
has the political power in the north to change political events.
Although he belongs to another political party ANPP, his
political power cuts across the northern states.
Atiku, the Adamawa born politician is another man that controls
the north and the south politics. He controls RDM political
machinery. RDM was formed by the late Shehu Musa Y’aradua, but
controlled by Atiku after Y’aradua’s death, in 1997. In 1999
Atiku Abubakar backed Obasanjo with RDM political weights; in
fact many believed that Atiku was one of the reasons why the
North voted for Obasanjo massively in 1999 and 2003 presidential
elections. Atiku was the first person to alert the Nigerians
about the foiled third term agenda, to elongate the tenure of
Obasanjo. Atiku was among the three political heavy weights that
brought the third term issue to rest.
As a result of IBB, Buhari, and Atiku’s role in the botched
third term agenda, Aso Rock is applying all the necessary tools
on the table to incriminate those that killed sit-tight agenda.
In all, watchers believe that the on-going romance of Buhari,
Babangida, Atiku is a marriage of convenience that will achieve
national objectives. Watchers also believe that the recent
romance among these political workaholics will prevent any
imposition of any candidate on Nigeria by Obasanjo and his
political cronies and acolytes
